THE Gold Coast managed to dodge the brunt of the destructive thunderstorms that swept across southeast Queensland and northern NSW yesterday. The Coast received 50-80mm of rain with the heaviest rainfall of 121mm recorded in the Hinterland as of 9pm last night. UPDATE: A 16-year-old boy has been arrested over an alleged cowardly attack on an elderly man on a Surfside Bus on the weekend.
